Measurement Tips

  • Bella Brides cannot assume responsibility for the size ordered. The customer is responsible for the size they order.
  • We recommend that you have someone measure you.
  • We also recommend wearing the correct undergarments and shoes while measuring, that you’ll be wearing the day of the event.
  • All designers use the English Standard System for all measurements and sizes. To convert your metric measurements to inches, use our Metric Converter.
  • In order to find the correct size, you need to measure your bust, waist and hip. Once you know your measurements, use the correct size chart for the corresponding designer and find your size.

Measuring your Bust:

Stand up straight. Position the measuring tape covering your full back around to the fullest part of your bust.

Measuring your Waist:

Stand up straight and position the measuring tape around your waist. If you are having trouble knowing where your waist is, bend to the side and the bend is your waist.

Measuring your Hips:

Stand up straight and position the measuring tape around the widest part of your hips.

Measuring the Length:

Designers make their gowns with a standard Hollow to Hem length. It is normally 58” Hollow to Hem. If you are taller than 5’7” with your heels on then you should consider extra length. Availability and fees vary with each designer.

Stand straight, face forward and arms down at your side. Position the measuring tape below your neck down to your waist. Then measure from your waist all the way down to where you want the dress to fall.

It is extremely vital that you are wearing the correct shoes as this will give you the extra length measurement that you will order for your dress.
